I have officially finished my high school classes (other than APs) and I am ready to fully focus on the last bits of my project. I need to make two videos explaining my project, one that is a quick 30 second clip and then another five minute video that goes more into depth about my project. I am excited to write the script and try filming the videos! I think I will reach out to other fellows who use videography as part of their project in order to get the perfect video! Sadly, this is a goodbye to my blog posts. On the other hand, that means my project is complete and ready to be shown to a larger audience!

Miss Steppe is now back from maternity leave so I was able to meet with her to show her the progress of my project. We set up a date in May for me to come into school and review my final presentation. She is going to help me make my presentation the best that it can be and show off my project to the community! Finally, the last step of my project is to print out a few hard copies to leave for future students in the LRC.
For my project, I have been redesigning some of the cover pages to make it more intriguing and eye-catching for users. I do not want the guide to look messy but I want it to look approachable and fun! I have a couple design ideas that I need to choose between before I print the guide. Other than designing the guide, I am excited for Miss Steppe to come back from maternity leave so she can see all of the progress I have made on my project!
I have has a busy past two weeks so I have not had as much time to work on my project. I did finish changing the format of the guide which took longer than expected because when I changed the layout of the page, it affected the other pages and I needed to add some more pages to the guide. This issue affects my printing so I need to redo the logistics of the printing this upcoming week.
Recently, I have been editing the format of my guide to make it easier for the tutors to use and follow along with. When first designing the guide, I used both numbers and bullet points but after hearing some feedback, some people thought the guide was more of a checklist rather than suggestions so I wanted to make it more clear. I changed any sections that had numbers to bullet points so it now reads more as ideas and not a checklist. Over spring break I am going to focus on printing my guide and making it look professional.
Recently, I have been working on the notes and feedback I received after my mid-year review. Some of this feedback included: clearing up who the guide is intended for (tutor or student), adding a bibliography, and adding room for students to write down notes. With this feedback, I will be able to improve my guide and make it more comprehensible for the NHS students. I will continue to work on these corrections and fix my guide. This upcoming Friday, I have my mid-year fellows review so all of my work from the school year will be evaluated. I have prepared for this by creating a presentation, laying out what I have accomplished this year. I have been practicing my presentation along with gathering all tangible evidence for my project to show the review board. I am excited to gain some new feedback for my project!
This week, I invited all of the National Honor Society students to a meeting to give me some feedback on my guide and my project as a whole. Now that they have had time to tutor students and have some experience, I thought it would be beneficial to hear their thoughts. I split the NHS students into two groups so it could be a more intimate conversation. I was able to gain some great feedback from the students and I am now going to incorporate the ideas into my guide. In addition, I am going to start preparing for my mid-year Fellows review!
Last week I met with my mentor to review my goals for the upcoming months. I have decided to host a lunch with all of the National Honor Society students in January to get some feedback on my guide. To continue, after I finish the guide and in the remaining visuals, I am going to print out some copies and bind them together so students can find a paper copy in the LRC. I laid out my goals to Miss Carsley and they were approved! Over the break, I am going to prepare for my meeting with the National Honor Society students and figure out how I am going to print my guide. In recent times, I have finished making the edits my mentor had given me for my guides. One of the more general edits was to add in more visuals and images so I am currently in the process of adding in visual examples. To continue, I have reached out to my outside of school mentor to get feedback on my project and the work I have done so far! I am now going to get together my goals for the winter and spring.
